Trending On Youtube 29/04/2015

Viral at its best.

Collectively they’re racking up millions of views and still climbing. From footage of the terrible Nepal earthquake to ‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ all grown up – here’s what’s trending on Youtube this week.

First up is some incredible footage of hikers being hit by an avalanche at Everest Base Camp. On April 25th at 11:56 NST, Nepal was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. It is the most powerful natural disaster to hit Nepal since the 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake. The death toll is estimated to be over 10,000 people.

The Earthquake triggered massive avalanches on Mount Everest, killing at least 19 people, making it the most lethal day in history on the mountain. The following is some footage of that avalanche from Jost Kobusch:

On a lighter yet disturbing note, ‘Woman In The Mirror’ by Tamale Rocks is a clip of a comedian moments before she goes on stage when she discovers a two-way mirror in the woman’s bathroom. As I write this it has had over 2 million views, with more pouring in. What would your reaction be to finding such a devious mirror? Film a viral video?

And finally we have ‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ somewhat grown up. A CBBC reporter goes to the house of the two brothers that star in one of the most watched clips on the Internet. ‘Charlie Bit My Finger‘ has, at the time of writing this, had 815 million views and discounting music videos is the most watched video on Youtube. And now the brothers are trending again as they relive that famous bite of a finger.
